Advertising
1. All posts are advertised.
2. The advertisement will consider any particular matters that need to be mentioned for the post in order to prevent any unwanted applications.
3. All potential applicants will have to complete our application form.
4. All applicants will be subject to Criminal Bureau Checks.
5. A minimum of two written references will be taken up and will always be confirmed by telephone.
6. All employees will have a CRB check every three years.
Interview and Induction Policy.
All candidates will be interviewed by the Trustees and when appropriate, the Headteacher.
All candidates will have a tour of the school and an informal induction during the interview during which;
A. Their qualifications will be substantiated.
B. The job requirements and responsibilities will be clarified.
C. They will adhere to the St. Thomas Garnet School Code of Conduct. And our Safe Guarding Children Policy.
D. Safeguarding Children procedures are explained and training needs identified.
Once appointed the employee will undergo an induction with the Headteacher or when appropriate, another member of staff.
St. Thomas Garnet’s School requires all employees to respond appropriately to concerns expressed by a young person and to work effectively with young people. It is therefore mandatory for all staff to attend Child Protection Training.
