We're building load bearing structures

- Bridges, in this case.

Having looked at the various styles and types of Bridge, all the children designed a bridge of their own, and six bridges were chosen to be built, one of each of the 'types'. Each of the designers of the six successful bridges
selected their associates for the various tasks needed, so each bridge had a group of 2, 3, or 4 children working on it.

 - the Bridges are scaled to the standard Matchbox or Hot Wheels model car - and these will be used to test the bridges  by firing the cars down a Metre long ramp onto each bridge
- with 10 different cars being used.

Best results will be measured by
1. Number of cars making it across each bridge,
2. Whether the bridge concerned stays together / up, and
3. The accuracy of the model to the original design...

At the time of writing, the Suspension Bridge "looks" the best, having a raised "straw" to guide the cars into the correct lane, plus a very nice mettalic purple paint job
 - while the basic 'Span' bridge seems likely to do well, being solid as a brick ... and
 - the ropes-and-planks bridge may have problems with the cars ( ! ) should it ever actualy be completed. One bridge has been given it's own (working) electric lights, while the 'pink bridge', complete with floral design, is an artistic triumph, even if it doesn't win the trial...

All in all, everyone seems to be enjoying it...
