Music and Drama can play an important part in your child's development

DRAMA

Our drama department is under the direction of Miss Melanie Hammond of The Big Little Theatre Company

Drama students have the opportunity to practise speaking poetry and prose for their LAMDA exams and the Bournemouth Festival, in which the school consistently achieves very high standards. Students also come together with their classmates every week for a group drama session where they gain a well-rounded experience of drama through practical lessons exploring a variety dramatic styles and approaches to theatre.

From the age of 2 Kindergarten children have class music lessons. As they progress through the school they have the opportunity to expand their musical experiences.
Recorder tuition is offered to all, and our recorder groups and soloists have been successful at both the Bournemouth and Southampton Music Festivals.
Pupils are able to join the Choir which regularly performs both at school and at festivals. Over the years we have been named Bournmouth Festival Junior Choir of the Year 7 times. A number of our children have been successful in gaining entry to the local Church Choirs.
Specialist Music Tuition is provided for Piano, Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Saxophone, Oboe, Guitar, Violin and Cello. Each Friday afternoon children who play instruments are invited to join our Orchestra, where they can have a taste of making music together. Whether you sing or play an instrument, music is for enjoyment.
